Max Verstappen escapes major Nurburgring 24 Hours scare

Cody Rhodes in

Max Verstappen suffered a huge scare moments after getting into the #3 Verstappen Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

The Dutchman took over from Dani Juncadella at the start of the second hour, with the outfit in third after a frenetic start to the race.

Juncadella made contact with multiple cars, including the race leader, in the opening hour, but survived the chaos.

Things remained dramatic as Verstappen took over with a huge moment after losing control over a bump.

The four-time world champion had to take to the grass, before somehow avoiding crashing into a barrier. It was so close to game over for the 28-year-old!
