F1 legend Alain Prost injured after masked gang raids home

Alain Prost, four-time Formula 1 World Champion, was subjected to a violent home robbery at his villa in Nyon, Switzerland, on Tuesday morning.

One of his sons was forced to open the family safe under threat of violence, whilst Prost himself sustained injuries during the attack. The perpetrators remain at large.

According to Swiss outlet Blick, the incident unfolded at around 8:30 am local time, when several masked individuals forced their way onto the Prost family’s property on the shores of Lake Geneva.

The 71-year-old sustained a head injury during the altercation, whilst the remainder of the family was simultaneously threatened as the gang sought access to the safe.

The precise contents taken remain unclear, though Prost’s long-standing ties to the luxury watchmaking world are well documented.

He has maintained a partnership with Richard Mille for many years, with the brand dedicating a limited edition of just 30 pieces to him. Neither the family nor the manufacturer responded to Blick’s request for comment.

The police launched a large-scale search operation, deploying dog units and forensic investigators.

French authorities were also notified, given the suspects may have fled across the border.

No arrests have been made. Despite minor physical injuries, a care team attended the scene. Prost has since returned to Dubai, where he resides part of the year.

The attack is part of a growing pattern as the canton of Geneva alone recorded 18 similar home-jackings in 2025, many carried out by organised, cross-border gangs targeting luxury watch collections.
