Cody Rhodes in

George Russell has taken pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix, ending his team-mate Kimi Antonelli’s streak of fastest laps in qualifying.

Antonelli was seeking his fourth successive F1 pole but just fell short, trailling his team-mate by just 0.068s.

McLaren made it an all-papaya second row as Lando Norris edged out his team-mate Oscar Piastri by just half a tenth.

Lewis Hamilton bagged fifth on the road despite abandoning his final lap following a mistake, while Max Verstappen rounded out the top six.
