Palmowski claims F1 ACADEMY pole position double in Montreal

Alisha Palmowski refused to let pole position slip out of her grasp, as the Red Bull Racing driver led from the outset all the way to the chequered flag in F1 ACADEMY Montreal Qualifying.

The Briton showed no signs of slowing throughout the 30-minute session, clocking in repeated personal bests to take pole position for Sunday’s Feature Race by 0.390s with a 1m 38.466s. Palmowski’s consistency paid off as her second-fastest lap was good enough to take pole for Saturday morning’s Opening Race by four tenths.Mercedes driver Payton Westcott earned her first front row start in P2, ahead of Megan Bruce, but the TAG Heuer driver’s second-quickest effort moved her ahead of the American for the Opening Race.

Emma Felbermayr and Mathilda Paatz matched their efforts to claim P4 and P5 on both grids. Alba Larsen was sixth-fastest ahead of Rafaela Ferreira and Kaylee Countryman, with the Haas driver earning her first P1 start for the Reverse Grid Race in the process. Nina Gademan wound up in ninth ahead of Lisa Billard in 10th.Ferreira’s second-fastest effort moves her ahead of Larsen into P6, with Billard, Countryman and Gademan completing the top 10.
